High performance, computerised corona discharge treater generators

The CP-series is a complete range of highly efficient,
fully computerised Corona-Plus generators, using
IGBT, DPC and PWM-techniques, which ensure a
wide power regulation band, combining high efficiency
with minimal energy loss.


The Vetaphone Corona-Plus generators is delivered with output power from 1-200kW, each having optional proportional control related to line speed, and the option of displaying either the actual generator power output in kW, or the energy delivered to the substrate in Watt×min/m².

Two important features of the CP-series generators
are their user-friendly design, making them very intuitive to operate, and their ability to cope with 24-hour non-stop production under all conditions.

The CP-generators are self-diagnostic and both internal and external functions are continuously checked by a monitoring system. Any malfunction being immediately displayed on the operator panel.

The operator panel is removable and can be used for
remote control in the central line console or generator
can be equipped with CP-PROFI or CP-IO interface
options.

 


The generator works with a resonant system, which
ensures smooth, uniform treatment without risk of pinholes.

The CP generator operates at a transistor-controlled
frequency of over 20 KHz. Connections are situated at the bottom of the generator, and maintenance is carried out from the front. The electronics are modular, and are quickly exchanged, minimising downtime.

Unique resonant feedback system
Consider an electrode with air gab, the dielectric on the roll and the film material are all parts of an electrical capacitor. Connected together with the high voltage transformer coils this makes an electrical resonant circuit.

To transfer maximum efficiency in a resonance circuit, the frequency needs to be the resonant frequency. As the film might differ in thickness and dielectric and the air gab with corona slightly differs this will dynamically move the resonant frequency.

By picking up the signal with the FEED-BACK system, the computer can ultra fast calculate the exact time for the next puls according to the momentarily resonance frequency. By ensuring running at the resonance frequency independent of film dielectric, film thickness and air gab the maximal corona power are supplied to the film surface.

This patented system secure HIGH efficiency and a high voltage sinus wave form without any possibility to make pin-holes in the film material.

Additional the power regulation is made with ultra fast PWM technique (Puls Width Modulation) giving the highest efficiency and a wide dynamic corona power adjustment range, that is required with proportional control according to line speed.
