EASI-Plasma Nano Coating is a much more complex process than EASI-Plasma Grafting, though it builds on the same concept with a nitrogen based atmosphere, the atmosphere is balanced with vaporised monomers that enables ultra-thin coatings on most materials.
Typically coatings are silicone or silica based and can create a variety of properties on the surface, in layer thicknesses from 1-50 nm (0.001-0.05 microns). When compared to traditional coatings that at the very best can be as thin as 1 micron, we are talking about a coating layer thickness that is between 20-1000 times thinner. The advantage from this is a lower consumption of consumables and the complete elimination of the need to dry the material after coating. This provides the possibility to equip any type of converting machine with EASI-Plasma equipment for inline or offline coating.
What makes the EASI-Plasma Nano Coating so unique is the highly controlled atmosphere and monitoring thereof. The EASI-Plasma technology is fully controlled and can be used in big sized production systems as well as lab sized equipment. We offer a royalty free program, where the customer can choose freely where to buy the consumables.
Vetaphone has test equipment available to perform test runs up to 1.2m width and 300 m/min and also to make advanced surface analyses (ATR-FTIR, AFM, XPS, Tof-SIMS, TEM, SEM). Furthermore we can offer to run small scale production or make proof of concept, by processing rolls up to 5.000m of length, to make full scale tests.
